Vallario signs contract with the PWHL

Defender Nicole Vallario has signed a contract with the New York Sirens (PWHL) for the 2025/26 season.

The 24-year-old Vallario spent the last two weeks at the New York Sirens’ training camp and has now signed a contract for the current season. New York started the new season last Saturday with a 4-0 win against Ottawa, but Vallario was not yet in the line-up. On Tuesday, the Sirens will play away against Montréal, before their first home game against Vancouver on Saturday.

«I am really looking forward to this opportunity. Of course, I also wish EVZ every success for the rest of the season – I will definitely continue to follow the games!»

EVZ head coach Daniela Diaz is also delighted for the Ticino native: “It’s great that another Swiss woman has made the leap to the PWHL – and one who has also made her mark at EVZ. That makes us very proud!” EVZ is now on the lookout for a replacement for Vallario in defense.

The EVZ Women’s Team now has four away games on the schedule: on Saturday, November 29, at Langenthal Damen; on Sunday, November 30, in the National Cup at GCK Lions Frauen; on Thursday, December 4, again in Altstetten, but against ZSC; and on Saturday, December 6, in Neuchâtel. After the national team break, EVZ will finally welcome SC Langenthal Women to the OYM hall on Sunday, December 21, for the Christmas Game.
