Vanessa Ryhner from EVZ is expecting a baby

EVZ player Ryhner is expecting her first child. For this reason, the forward is taking a break this season and will be performing other duties for EVZ.

Vanessa Ryhner will become a mother for the first time in spring 2026. Even before the start of the PostFinance Women’s League championship in mid-September, the 28-year-old decided not to play for EVZ this season. Instead, Ryhner will support the coaching staff of the EVZ women’s team at home games behind the bench and in the statistics department. Ryhner will also continue to participate in off-ice training on a regular basis, as far as her circumstances allow.

“We are very happy for Vanessa and her husband Dominik,” says EVZ Head Coach Daniela Diaz. “We want to support Vanessa as best we can during her pregnancy and are delighted that she will remain with us in a different role as a team member during this time.”
