The ZSC Lions as the first opponent in the Final 4 tournament

The semi-finals for the Final 4 tournament in the Women’s National Cup in Lausanne (16/17 January) have been drawn: The EVZ will face the ZSC Lions.

Two more wins until the title defence. After the EVZ Women’s Team won its first title since its foundation in Lausanne last year in 2023, the aim is to repeat this feat at the start of 2026. To do so, however, two more victories are needed at the Final 4 tournament on 16 and 17 January – again at the Vaudoise aréna in Lausanne.

The draw was made by the SIHF on Monday and the EVZ’s semi-final opponents are the ZSC Lions. In the other semi-final, the SC Langenthal Ladies will face off against the HC Davos Ladies – an overview of the Final 4 tournament:

OUR SEMI-FINAL OPPONENT

With the ZSC Lions, the Zug team is already facing a tough opponent in the semi-finals. Although things are not yet going according to plan for the Zurich team in the PostFinancen Women’s League, they pulled off a coup in the round of 16 of the CNational Cup, beating SC Bern. In the round of 16, they then had no trouble with the Dragon Queens from the SHWL-C and eliminated them with a score of 16:0.

The EVZ Women’s Team has also flown through the National Cup so far. Head coach Daniela Diaz’s team followed up their round of 16 victory over the GCK Lions women from the SWHL-B (15:0) with a 9:0 win over Neuchâtel at the weekend.

The course has been set for Cup victory number 2. The action continues on January 16. If EVZ wins its semifinal, it will face the winner of the second semifinal between Langenthal and Davos in the final one day later. Otherwise, the battle for third place will take place in Lausanne on Saturday.
