The EVZ Women’s Team has secured its place in the final of the National Cup with an impressive 7:1 victory against the ZSC Lions. The Zug team will face HC Davos Ladies in the final today at 18:00 in Lausanne in the Vaudoise Arena.
The EVZ Womens’ Team has reached the final of the National Cup after a clear semi-final victory against the ZSC Lions Women.
Zug took control of the game from the 10th minute onwards in the first period. Ivana Wey opened the scoring to make it 1:0, laying the foundations for a dominant performance. The decisive phase of the game followed in the middle third: five goals, including four in the space of just five minutes, ensured clear conditions and an early knockout blow against the Zurich team.
In addition to a cohesive team performance, Lara Stalder’s two goals stood out in particular. Ivana Wey is voted EVZ’s best player, while Shannon Sigrist is honoured for the ZSC Lions.
The record also speaks in favour of the Zug team: The last direct duels in the PostFinance Women’s League all went to the EVZ. The two teams also met in the semi-finals of the National Cup last season, with EVZ winning 7:3 and advancing to the final.
