EVZ strengthens its team with Laura Fuoco

The 22-year-old Canadian forward Laura Fuoco is joining the EVZ Women’s Team from North America with immediate effect.

Ahead of the decisive phase in the PostFinance Women’s League and the Final 4 in the National Cup, EVZ is bringing in reinforcements from North America. This follows Nicole Vallario’s move to the PWHL in November and the Zug team’s various absences at forward.

Laura Fuoco is set to fill this gap with immediate effect. The 180 cm tall forward is already in Zug and will be available for the next game against the ZSC Lions on 8 January. Fuoco spent the past few seasons with Dartmouth in the NCAA, hoped for a chance in the PWHL and is now transferring to Switzerland until the end of the 2025/26 season.

“Since my first conversation with Daniela Diaz, I have been impressed by the professionalism and passion for women’s ice hockey in Zug. I want to contribute all my skills to achieve the common goal of winning titles as quickly as possible. I can hardly wait to get started.”

Laura Fuoco is delighted about her commitment to EVZ

Daniela Diaz, Head Coach of the EVZ Women’s Team: “After the departure of Nicole and the additional absences in the offence, we wanted to add to the forward position. With the signing of Laura, we’ve managed to do that. She also brings a valuable element to our team with her drive and height.”
