Marti extends his contract with EVZ for one year

Alina Marti will continue to play for EVZ in the 2026/27 season. The national team forward has extended her contract in Zug, which expires at the end of the season, by one year.

Together with Lara Stalder, Rahel Enzler and Ivana Wey, Alina Marti was not only one of the EVZ’s most reliable scorers in the regular season, but also in the entire PostFinance Women’s League (PFWL). Only seven players in the league have collected more than Marti’s 34 points (17 goals and assists each). The centre forward also played a key role in Zug’s Cup victory at the end of January. Over the entire campaign, she contributed two goals and six assists to the successful defence of the title and repeatedly created danger in front of the opposing goal with her speed and understanding of the game.

“Alina has integrated excellently into our team and is one of the leaders with her experience and attitude.”

Daniela Diaz, Head Coach EVZ Women’s Team

Marti’s second participation in the Olympic Games now awaits her in February. In Milan, she will compete for an Olympic medal together with four other EVZ teammates before the PFWL playoffs start on 6 March. The Zug team’s goal is clear: they want to win the Swiss championship title in the top division for the first time and, after winning the Cup, the double.

After Lara Stalder, Rahel Enzler, Luisa Waser and Nina Harju, EVZ has been able to sign another national team forward for the coming season in Marti. Meanwhile, head coach Daniela Diaz continues to work on the squad for the coming season.
