National team debut for Keller and Eggli

Six girls from Zug were called up for the 6-Nations Tournament in Klagenfurt.

During the first week of the Women’s Olympic Tournament, a six-nation tournament will take place in Klagenfurt, Austria, from 2 to 8 February 2026. Under the direction of Head Coach Melanie Häfliger, 22 players have been nominated for the tournament: Three goalkeepers, seven defencemen and twelve forwards.

The aim of the week is similar to that of the men’s prospect camp: to identify the most promising talents, convey the playing philosophy and mindset of the women’s national team and give the players opportunities to showcase themselves on the international stage.

Of the 22 players nominated, half have not yet played a match for the senior national team. The youngest players were born in 2006 (five players) and 2007 (six players), while EVZ forward Luisa Waser, born in 2000, is the oldest. The two SCB players with the most international experience are Alena Lynn Rossel (53 caps) and Alizée Aymon (21) as well as the EVZ players Nina Harju and Elena Gaberell with 18 appearances each.

“We keep a close eye on the talents and want to promote their development in a targeted manner. All players get the chance to play themselves into the spotlight with good performances,” says Melanie Häfliger.

In addition to Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Slovakia, Hungary and hosts Austria are also taking part in the tournament.
