EVZ signs Mara Frey and Emma Lintner

Mara Frey has played for the ZSC Lions women’s team since 2023 and, after three seasons in Zurich, will now transfer to EV Zug. The Lucerne native, who also teaches in Hochdorf, Lucerne, alongside her hockey career, has 45 caps for the Swiss national team and was selected for the last World Championship. At ZSC, Mara Frey is an undisputed starter and played in all 28 games of the PFWL regular season this year.

Mara Frey on her move to EV Zug: “I’m incredibly excited to be part of such a professional organization and a dedicated team. In Zug, I see the ideal conditions for the next step in my personal development.”

Emma Lintner is another young talent joining the EVZ Women’s Team. The 17-year-old Austrian played last season and this season with Stanstead in the Canadian High School Hockey League (CAHS) and has signed a contract in the NCAA starting in 2027. Lintner spent the 2023/24 season with Lausanne, where she also played against EVZ in the SWHL B. Now, Lintner, who has also played for the Austrian national team, is returning to Switzerland for one season.

Emma Lintner on her move: “Ever since I played against EVZ in 2023, I’ve wanted to be part of this club. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work on my game in Zug next season and giving it my all with the team.”
