National player Annic Büchi stays with EVZ

The EVZ is pleased to announce the early contract extension with defenceman Annic Büchi. The 20-year-old Swiss international has extended her contract, which was due to expire in the spring, by two more years until 2028.

Annic Büchi has been a member of the EVZ Women’s Team since 2023 and has since developed into an important player in defence. Born in Zurich, she is now a 30-time international and has also been called up for the 2026 Olympic Games, which begin on Friday.

Annic Büchi has played a major role in the success story of the EVZ Women’s Team in recent years. The defenceman celebrated promotion to the PostFinance Women’s League and two Cup victories with the Zug team. In the 2025-16 regular season, which EVZ finished in first place, Büchi was on the ice for all 28 games. The goal now is to win the championship title for the first time this spring – and future successes with Büchi in an EVZ dress should follow.

Daniela Diaz, Head Coach EVZ Women’s Team, is delighted with the extension: “Annic has developed enormously and has matured into an important key player on and off the ice. She fits perfectly into the team and I’m delighted that she’s committed to EVZ in the long term. Together with the players who have already been extended, we are sending an important signal of stability and ambition in the further development of our team.”

The EVZ Women’s Team squad for the coming season continues to take shape. Lara Stalder, Rahel Enzler, Nina Harju, Luisa Waser and Alina Marti have also recently extended their contracts.
