Zuger Frauen-Eishockey has added another chapter to its success story.
After its founding in 2023, promotion in 2024, cup victory in 2025 and cup title defence in 2026, the team has now secured its second consecutive playoff final appearance in March 2026. And this time, the crowning glory is to follow in the form of their first title. But it’s not over yet. To achieve this, the Zug women must first win the final series against SC Bern.
But on Tuesday evening, the focus is first and foremost on the commanding 3-0 victory in the semi-final series. After the Zug women were punished for a few shortcomings in Game 2 on Sunday, they leave nothing to chance today. Noemi Neubauerova’s opening goal after just over 14 minutes breaks the deadlock. From the second period onwards, the goal fest takes its course: Lara Stalder, Laura Fuoco and Annika Fazokas ensure a comfortable 4-0 lead after 37 minutes. Although the Fribourg women were able to reduce the deficit before the second intermission, the damage had already been done. Alina Marti and Ivana Wey scored twice each to secure a clear 7-2 victory in front of 1,402 spectators and a place in the final.
