Around 200 girls and boys aged 10 to 16 currently play at EVZ and the junior program continues to grow. The downside of this basically very pleasing growth is that the EVZ can no longer guarantee a place in the teams of the next age group for all the children in the Young Bulls Hockey School.
With the aim of offering a meaningful leisure activity, EVZ wants to make ice hockey accessible to as many children as possible. For this reason, the EVZ is launching “Young Bulls Teens” in the coming season – a fun ice hockey program for children and teens, which should also give late starters an easy introduction to the world of ice hockey.
In the first year, Young Bulls Teens is open to all girls and boys born between 2010 and 2016 – basic skating skills are sufficient for fun field hockey. There will be a total of twelve training sessions from October to February. Further information, including how to register, will follow in July.
The EVZ is one of the few clubs that offers ice hockey at professional and competitive level as well as at amateur level. This means that players who are unable or unwilling to make the leap into competitive sport still have the chance to pursue their passion on the ice.
NOMINATION FOR KÅNKEN YOUTH RETENTION AWARD
The newly created Young Bulls Teens program was nominated for the Kånken Youth Retention Award 2025 by the Euro Hockey Clubs Alliance. With this award, the E.H.C. Alliance honors youth programs that are characterized by sustainable social responsibility and high retention rates among juniors.
