The contracts with Garrett Roe and Brian Flynn were not extended. Contract negotiations with Carl Klingberg and Pontus Widerström are ongoing.
As communicated by the ZSC Lions today, Garrett Roe is moving to Zurich for the next season. The EVZ also wanted to extend the contract with Roe and placed an offer, but there was no agreement. The 31-year-old American came to Zug from Linköping in 2017 with a two-year contract and scored 100 points for Zug in 93 championship games.
Brian Flynn also leaves the EVZ at the end of the season. The 30-year-old center only joined the EVZ in January with a contract until the end of the season, which has now not been prolonged. Flynn played 26 games (9 goals / 6 assists) for Zug.
We thank them both for their engagement for the EVZ and wish them all the best for the future. While Brian Flynn has already returned to America, Garrett Roe will be given his due at the season-end party on Saturday.
The contractual situations of Carl Klingberg and Pontus Widerström are currently still open. The EVZ is interested in further cooperation with the two players who are currently negotiating their contracts.
