Dan Tangnes' assistant returns to Sweden for family reasons.
Against expectations, EVZ general manager Reto Kläy has to look for a new assistant coach. Assistant Coach Stefan Hedlund has informed the club that he wants to return to Sweden despite a contract in Zug that is still valid until 2020. The decision, which is surprising for both sides, is for family reasons only. "I would have liked to stay with EVZ. Everything is right for me here, but not for my family. As a responsible family father, I had to make this decision. I am forever grateful to EVZ for what it has given me", the 44-year-old Swede regrets the premature departure.
EVZ will not put any obstacles in Stefan Hedlund's way. Reto Kläy: "We respect his private situation and after detailed discussions we came to the conclusion that this solution is the best one."
Stefan Hedlund came to Zug from Lulea in 2017 and took over the farm team EVZ Academy as head coach. Last season he was appointed Assistant Coach of the National League Team. After his return he will take over another coaching position in Sweden.
