Tobias Geisser back to the EVZ

The defender signs with his youth club until 2025.

After another year in North America, Tobias Geisser returns to the EVZ for the next three years. The 23-year-old was drafted 120th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft in the 4th round by the Washington Capitals and received an entry-level contract in 2018, but only played for their AHL farm team Hershey Bears. Already in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, the 191cm tall, 91kg defenceman was loaned to Zug, where he progressed through all junior levels from U15 onwards and won the Swiss championship title with the 1st team in 2021.

Geisser’s performances in the domestic National League were rewarded after the title with his first World Cup call-up with the national team, with his second World Cup appearance following this year. “Tobi has consistently developed over the last few years and has grown into a solid defender,” says General Manager Reto Kläy. “We are very happy about his return to Zug!”

Welcome back to Zug, Tobi!
