Just over two weeks ago, the 28-year-old Voženílek won the gold medal with the Czech Republic against Switzerland at the home World Championships in Prague. A month earlier, the 190 cm tall and 97 kg forward was crowned Czech champion for the second time in a row with Oceláři Třinec in Game 7 of the final series against his youth club Dynamo Pardubice in overtime. As MVP of the 2023 playoffs with 16 points in 22 knockout games, the left-handed shooter had already played a considerable part in Třinec’s success, and in the past season he even collected 57 points (25 goals, 32 assists) in a total of 71 games.
The newly crowned world champion Daniel Voženílek has signed a contract for the next two years in Zug.
«Daniel is a power forward who goes where it hurts and is extremely strong one-on-one. He can be used both as a center and a winger. We are delighted that Daniel has decided in favor of the EVZ despite various offers and is 100 percent committed.»
Reto Kläy, General Manager EVZ
Voženílek has signed a two-year contract with Zug until 2026. Like the other EVZ import players, the father of three will complete his summer training in his home country and join the team at the end of July.
