SC Bern vs EVZ

On Saturday evening (November 16, 7.45 p.m.), the EVZ will visit the capital.

After the 1:6 disgrace last Wednesday evening, the EVZ is looking for revenge in Bern. The Mutzen were already 3-0 up after less than five minutes, with goalkeeper Tim Wolf having to make way for 19-year-old Santo Simmchen, who was making his National League debut. The fans in the BOSSARD Arena welcomed the young goalie with an encouraging round of applause – there are truly better debuts than having to start with a three-goal deficit with still 55 minutes of play.

Simmchen did his job well, making several big saves, but ultimately had to be beaten three more times. Fabrice Herzog scored the only goal for the EVZ at half-time. The performance of the entire team was “unacceptable”, said Livio Stadler, who recently extended his contract by three years, after the game.

The Zug team seized the opportunity for a first reaction on Friday evening, the team was as good as new. “We’re ready, we’re playing with anger in our stomachs – and Lausanne is tired from the night before,” said striker Fredrik Olofsson confidently on Friday morning. His prediction proved to be true: Lausanne had taken the lead in the standings from the ZSC Lions with a 2-0 win on Thursday night, but had to relinquish it after a spirited performance by Zug and a 6-2 defeat. Two of the six goals were also scored by the Swede – his first two goals in the EVZ dress!

Now the EVZ also has the chance for revenge against SC Bern on Saturday. The team from the capital had to go to a penalty shoot-out in Fribourg on Friday and only managed to secure one point in the Zähringen derby. With one game and two points more, they are in 4th place in the table, two places ahead of the EVZ.
