EVZ VS Genève-Servette HC

On Wednesday (January 8, 7:45 p.m.), sixth-placed EVZ welcomes tenth-placed GSHC to the BOSSARD Arena.

Zug are showing an upward trend. After their 4:1 win against HC Davos, they recently picked up a point at leaders Lausanne HC after a convincing performance (1:2 after overtime). As a result, the gap to fourth-placed Davos – with one game less to play – has shrunk to five points. Thanks to his 12th goal of the season on Monday, Lino Martschini overtook Daniel Vozenilek in the internal scoring rankings and will wear the Flames helmet on Wednesday against Genève-Servette HC. It was already the fourth goal in 2025 for the Zug veteran.

GSHC has won two of three matches in the new year: 6:4 against EHC Biel, 0:3 against the SCL Tigers, 3:1 against the SCL Tigers. Teemu Hartikainen stood out in the two victories. The former league top scorer was injured at the beginning of December and had to sit out seven games. His team only won two of them. The 34-year-old has now returned with a goal in each of the victorious matches. In the only meeting with EVZ so far at the end of October, he came away empty-handed – the Zug team won 5:1 on that occasion. Teemu Hartikainen is somewhat removed from reclaiming the top scoring spot with the Servettiens: Sakari Manninen has collected seven more points.
