The Czech international was drafted by the PWHL team Toronto Sceptres in May and will join their training camp in November. Until then, the tall forward will strengthen the EVZ Women’s Team.
EVZ reacts to injury-related absences and signs Noemi Neubauerová until the end of October.
«It’s a win-win situation for both. Noemi will bring a breath of fresh air and new energy to our team and she will get match practice until she goes to North America.»
Daniela Diaz, Head Coach EVZ Women’s Team
The signing of Neubauerová for the next month and a half is also important for the development process of her team, adds Diaz. “Both the young and the experienced players can benefit from her experience.”
Neubauerová spent last season with Brynäs IF in the SDHL (SWE), before which she played for Colgate University and Providence College in the NCAA while studying in the USA. The 24-year-old also won bronze at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships with the Czech national team and also took part in the 2022 Olympic Games. Fun fact: Noemi Neubauerová grew up in Kolín, a small town east of Prague.
The transfer of the right-shooter is EVZ’s response to the long-term injury to forward Vanessa Ryhner and the absence of Nina Harju, who injured her foot while playing for the national team and is expected to miss the start of the season.
