EVZ Prospects Challenge
The EVZ Prospects Challenge took place for the third time from August 13 to 17, 2025. Top-class teams from all over Europe competed for the title in this international U20 tournament.
The EVZ Prospects Challenge celebrated its premiere in the summer of 2023. In the first edition of the tournament, IFK Helsinki secured the title in a high-quality final against Rögle BK and defended it in 2024 in a repeat of the previous year's final. The two-time champions did not compete this year: the Finnish representative in the third edition of the Prospects Challenge was Tappara Tampere. The newcomers faced Red Bull Salzburg (AUT), HC Bílí Tygři Liberec (CZE), Rögle BK (SWE), the GCK/ZSC Lions (SUI), and the host EVZ at the international tournament in the OYM hall.
The hosts EVZ and Rögle BK won their respective groups and faced each other in the final on Sunday afternoon. The Swedes brought their experience from two previous finals to bear and were able to convert it into their first title win. Zug improved from 4th place in 2023 and 3rd place in 2024 to 2nd place in this year's edition of the tournament.
