Andreas Fehr celebrated his greatest success in the 1982/83 season, when the EVZ, under Frantisek Dum, was immediately promoted back to the National League B (now the Swiss League) one year after being relegated to the 1st division. Fehr was captain of the promotion team, in which three successful home-grown players made their debut: Philipp Neuenschwander and Sandro Bertaggia, who would later become national team players, and long-time defender Peter Stadler.
“Buzz” Fehr succumbed to cancer on Saturday night and was only 67 years old. The EVZ sends its heartfelt condolences to his wife Patrizia and his family!
Andreas “Buzz” Fehr joined EVZ from Kloten in the 1977/78 season and retired from active sports in 1984 after seven seasons in Zug. In 195 games, the forward scored 65 goals, 48 assists and 113 points for the EVZ. His name is immortalized on the Wall of Fame in the BOSSARD Arena.
