Allenspach with EVZ for two more years

With Luca De Nisco, EVZ equips another “The Hockey Academy” graduate with a National League contract until 2023.

The 21-year-old forward joined EVZ’s U20 elite juniors in 2017 and at the same time started his training at the Hockey Academy, which he successfully completed with his Matura in the summer of 2020. Already from the 2018/19 season, De Nisco came regularly with the EVZ Academy in the Swiss League.

On September 21, 2021, he finally made his debut in the National League, as several forwards were absent from the 1st team due to injury. “I remember my first game in the NL very well,” says De Nisco, who is studying at ETH alongside his field hockey career. “I was informed just before I left for Lugano that I would be there.” Since then, Luca De Nisco has not missed a game in the National League and has also made other appearances in the Swiss League.

Now the 178 cm tall and 88 kg left-shooter has signed his first professional contract with the EVZ until 2023. “This means extremely much to me, because I’ve been working towards this for a very long time,” says De Nisco. General Manager Reto Kläy also praises the young winger’s determination: “Luca wants to improve every day, on and off the ice. He has developed enormously as a hockey player and personality in recent years.”

In the National League, Luca De Nisco has scored two goals and one assist in 27 games so far this season. In the 2022/23 season, he will be the ninth “The Hockey Academy” graduate in the EVZ squad, alongside Dario Allenspach (until 2024), Nico Gross (2024), Luca Hollenstein (2024), Sven Leuenberger (2024), Arno Nussbaumer (2024), Livio Stadler (2025), Dario Wüthrich (2023) and Yannick Zehnder (2023).
