The EVZ starts the season with an away game at the Grizzlies Wolfsburg.
For the 1st Champions Hockey League game of the season, the EVZ travels to Wolfsburg on 2 September to the third-placed team in the German championship. The action continues two days later at the traditional Finnish club TPS Turku. On 8 September, Zug will host these two teams in the BOSSARD Arena for the second legs. Rounds 5 and 6 of the group phase against Olimpija Ljubljana will be played in October.
