SCL Tigers vs EVZ

In the last championship game before the national team break, EVZ will face Langnau on Saturday (December 7, 7:45 p.m.).

After the first two direct duels with the SCL Tigers, the EVZ leads 6-0 in points and 10-2 in goals. In the away game on October 26, Tim Wolf celebrated his first shutout in an EVZ uniform – it was the 32-year-old’s 17th consecutive outing. At the latest since last Wednesday and the return of Leonardo Genoni, Wolf can count on a breather every now and then. Genoni, who should now definitely be back on the roster after recovering from injury and making his first comeback on November 22, had to work “overtime” for the second time in his second game of the season – but only for 25 seconds in Ambrì: Then Jan Kovar grabbed the disc in his own zone, curved unchallenged in front of Juvonen’s goal and put the disc in the net with a powerful wrist shot.

You can enjoy this and other goals from the EVZ captain, who extended his contract until 2027 on Thursday, in this video:

The signing with the Czech was another personnel matter that General Manager Reto Kläy was able to settle after the extensions with Tobias Geisser, Livio Stadler, Nando Eggenberger and Elia Riva as well as the first professional contracts for four The Hockey Academy athletes: “Jan is a leader, on the ice and in the dressing room. He is very important to the team.” Kovar himself is also delighted to be staying in Zug until 2027: “I feel at home here. I love the city, I love the fans. I’m proud to be able to play in this great organization for two more years.”  In the last five and a half years, the fan favorite has scored 81 goals and collected an incredible 219 assists in 322 games for the EVZ – if the fans have their way, there’s plenty more to come in the next few years!
